Kyel and Vinn

#sketchtober, another pair (the previous pair I've featured here was Castle and Britney). I've really been into drawing pairs of people lately. Sometimes I draw siblings or couples, but usually, such as these two, its a pair of friends.

Kyel and Vinn (Medium: Pencil)
Also, I realized there's so many ways to spell Kyle. Kaisle, Kiyell, Kaiel, Kaielle (girly), etc. So I wanted to pick a more unique spelling. I stuck with one of the simpler alternate spellings - Kyel - so as to not confuse people too much. I like this spelling a lot because it seems more accurate to the actual pronunciation of the name (KY-ull).

In this picture, Kyel is giving his energetic friend Vinn an interesting look. I can't really figure out what his expression is honestly. It seems sort of dazed and emotional (mainly because of the eyes), but at the same time tired and sarcastic (the eyebrow position and the slightly lowered eyelids), and all of it with a hint of mild amusement (especially in the mouth area; he's not smiling, but it looks as though he may be just about to).

As for Vinn, you can see that his personality is quite different from Kyel's. He has an expression of vibrant energy glowing in his eyes, a bit of a mischeivous hint probably due to the eye brow position and big, white-toothed, slightly crooked smile, but also a sweet sense of amiable innocence (probably because of the nose, the dimple, and the WIDE open eyes breaking the fourth wall.)

I don't usually spend this much time analyzing my own art (well, that's a lie, I just don't usually write it down for people to see.) But I figured, I always love it when people look at my drawings and say what they think of the personality of whatever I've drawn. So maybe for a change you would all like to see what I think of the character of my drawings. I certainly had fun doing it, and usually when I draw things I don't end up figuring out their personality until they're all finished up.

Anyway, I know this post was long and that's okay if you didn't read the whole thing, but I had a lot of fun with it and wouldn't be afraid to do it again. And if you DID read the whole thing - thanks! That means a lot, and I hope you enjoyed it and were inspired somehow :)

Well that's all for #sketchtober today. Hope you liked Kyel and Vinn.

Stay majestic
